After meeting online, the first in-person meeting of members of the University of Galway Community Sponsorship Group, as part of the EU-Passworld project, took place on November 29th in Galway. The group is composed of members from the University of Galway including students, staff, academics and Student’s Union members as well as members from the wider Galway community from the Galway Public Participation Network and Galway City Partnership.
Stacey Dunne and Tessa Cornally from Nasc, the Migrant and Refugee Rights centre, presented on the EU-Passworld project and discussed how the Community Sponsorship group will support the new Education pathway.
The group have begun the online element of their Community Sponsorship training which has been prepared specifically for Education pathways. They are continuing to grow as a group and will have their first fundraising event soon, watch this space.
